Iron Press is a resource for experienced printmakers and a place for interested beginners to learn a range of printmaking skills.
An Open Access policy allows anyone to come and learn about Printmaking. To use Open Access you have to complete an Induction, which introduces you to the Health and Safety of studio practice.
Open Access accommodates up to five people daily, so booking studio time is recommended, and essential if you wish to use the relief printing press for linocuts, woodcuts and wood engraving.

One and two day Workshops are a regular part of the timetable, offering the opportunity to develop skills in individual disciplines and in how to combine a variety of techniques.
The Workshops cater for complete beginners, as well as experienced printmakers wishing to develop new skills.
Invited artists who are specialists in one or more disciplines will also run Workshops.
Attending a Workshop is an excellent introduction to making prints. If you are new to printmaking it will help you become familiar with printing tools and techniques, and provides practical experience in how the Print Studio operates.
Workshops are always led by specialists, therefore negating the need to have completed the Induction.
